TMI 2009 makes history with many firsts
Nine days, over 200 youth. Sixteen
electives. Five bands. Four choruses.
One foundational truth – “For in Him
we live and move and have our being”
(Acts 17:28a). With 253 delegates
descending upon Camp Hoblitzelle
in Midlothian, Texas, the week of July
25-Aug. 3, 2009, was recorded in Territorial Music Institute history as being the highest attended ever.

What I learned at camp: more than making moccasins
I have no real discernible talent.
I can’t sing.
Or act.
Or play an instrument.
I tried blowing in a horn once – no doubt that mishap
is on YouTube somewhere.
But I am good at two things: being an encourager and
writing – not really what floods the electives at camp. I
am, after all, competing with the ropes course, horseback
riding and dance (I’m very clumsy, so it’s in everyone’s
best interest that I stay off the course and as far away
from the horses as possible).
