The Salvation Army Downtown Corps (Non-traditional Worship Center) is a less traditional worship experience. The Downtown Worwhip Center, or 'The Cafe,' has a much more focused ministry approach to a specific target population in our community. The main population served by The Cafe is the homeless and poor of St. Petersburg. In a non-traditional setting of a coffee shop, people can come daily to receive a cup of hot coffee and sit and visit with others and the ministry staff of the Downtown Corps.
The Cafe is open Sunday through Thursday from 9 am to 11:30 am and on Sundays it can remain open until 4:30 for special events or programs that are scheduled.
The mission of The Cafe is to see the broken repaired, the hurting healed, and the desperate enjoying hope. This mission is accomplished through four forms of ministry that include worship, discipleship, mission and social action. Through the use of these forms of ministry The Cafe is eager to change the world and the people that come through their doors on a daily basis.
If you live in the downtown area and do not have a church home we invite you to join with The Cafe on Sunday from 9 am to 11:30 am for worship services. Please stop in and visit and see what is happening in the community served by The Cafe`.
