The Treasure Coast Civitan Club, a local organization which supports people with developmental disabilities as well as children from economically-challenged families recently donated a tub of school supplies to The Salvation Army of Martin County. Mariel Broffman, Salvation Army Mission Specialist, accepted the donations from Civitan Club President Polly Forestier.
"We are truly blessed that the Civitan Club cares so much about the children in our community," Broffman said. The Salvation Army of Martin County currently has approximately 75 children enrolled in the weekly after-school youth activities, ranging in age from 4-18. "I know that the families of our children are going to be very happy to have these school supplies," Broffman added.
The Salvation Army is located at 821 SE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in East Stuart. For more information on The Salvation Army of Martin County, it's Youth programs, or to make a donation, please call 772-288-1471 or visit www.salvationarmystuart.org.
