The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary Hosts 19th Annual Fashion Show & Silent Auction

 The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary to Host 19th Annual Fundraiser to Benefit Homeless and At-Risk Families in Hillsborough County

Event will feature the latest fashions and a diverse silent auction.

        TAMPA, Fla. (April 4, 2012) -   The Salvation Army Tampa Women's Auxiliary will host its 19th Annual Fashion Show Luncheon & Silent Auction on Monday, April 16, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the DoubleTree Hotel in Tampa. Funds raised will support The Salvation Army's programs serving homeless, hungry and at-risk families in Hillsborough County. 

Current fashions from Ann Taylor (International Plaza), Cache (WestShore Plaza), Clothes Friends Boutique, and Salvation Army Family Stores will be modeled by Auxiliary members and other local professional women. Models will be escorted to the runway by U.S. Army Private James Kropp, the son of a local Salvation Army employee.

The silent auction will offer a variety of items from gift baskets and jewelry to spa treatments and vacation destinations. Some items available for bid include:

  • Aday cruise for eight aboard a55-foot motoryacht (docked in Tampa Bay)
  • 7 nights in a deluxe cabin in the mountains of Murphy, North Carolina
  • A Kindle Fire (with case) and Amazon gift card
  • Golf for four at Saddlebrook Resort
  • An authentic African safari basket
  • Family four-packs of tickets to Disney World®, SeaWorld® and Busch Gardens®
  • A Zoom! 2 Teeth Whitening Treatment
  • A Botox® treatment valued at $700

 "Our goal is to raise at least $30,000 to support The Salvation Army's local programs serving homeless and at-risk families," said Linda Barker, Women's Auxiliary president. "In recent years, The Salvation Army has experienced increased demand for their services as donations have declined. The funds we raise will help meet the extraordinary need that exists in our community."
