SUPPORTIVE HOUSING PROGRAM
Eligibility: Any family who is homeless and willing to work towards self-sufficiency through education and skills training is eligible. A family is defined as a mother and children, father and children, or a husband, wife and children.
Program Components
- Each family's needs are comprehesively assessed by a team of professional case managers when the applicant enters into this two-year program. Basic necessities are provided to clients throughout this period.
- Individualized plans are developed in cooperation with the family and advocacy and coordination of services are integrated into each intensive case management plan.
- Clients are not required to stay in the Supportive Housing Tower as they participate in this program. When clients are experiencing only a temporary setback they may be placed directly into community housing accommodations.
- Life skills classes, which target each family's specific problem areas, are held each week.
- Education opportunities are encouraged through case management support.
- An on-site three-star licensed childcare facility is available for those who need quality child care while the applicant is working or receiving training.
