Shelter Services

Transitional Housing Program

Services include an initial assessment and asistance establishing goals, referrals for education, vocational opportunities, job placement, budgeting skills, parenting skills and assistance in locating decent, affordable housing. It is our goal to help the family make a smooth transition from homelessness to permanent housing.

Participants in this program can stay four to six months while they make needed changes to increase their income and locate housing. They must meet with a social worker on a weekly basis to ensure that appropriate progress is being made towards establishing goals.

Clients are given three nights free, after that our fee is $7.00 a night. Exceptions are made for those clients who can verify they are looking for work. Clients may check into the shelter at 4:15 p.m. and must have a picture i.d. and proof of marriage. A police background check is completed to ensure no outstanding warrants exist.
