Last year, your local Salvation Army served 79,467 meals.

Lodge

Reduced to sleeping in public parks and under bridges, men who have known better times receive temporary shelter at the Men's Shelter. Besides dignified lodgings in a clean, spacious environment, the homeless person receives meals, counseling and assistance in finding employment. Counselors may also advise the elderly and disabled on applying for V.A. or Social Security benefits.

 

WHEN AND WHERE ARE MEALS SERVED?

We have a new, expanded Community Kitchen, serving a warm, well balanced meal serving breakfast EVERYDAY from 7-7:30 a.m. and dinner EVERYDAY at 5:30 p.m. Lunch is served on Monday and Tuesday at 11:30, as well as clients will recieve a sack lunch during breakfast feeding on Saturdays. All meals are prepared and served at 300 Webster and open to anyone in need.

WHAT SPECIFIC FUNCTION DOES THE MEN'S LODGE SERVE? 

The Men's Lodge provides shelter, meals, and case-management services to thousands of single men each year.
Clients include veterans, transients and unemployed or under-employed single men. Men staying at the Lodge receive three meals a day while receiving comprehensive social services.

WHO CAN STAY AT THE EMERGENCY MEN'S LODGE? 

In the past, mostly middle-aged and transient men sought shelter. Today, these men tend to be younger individuals; the average man currently seeking lodging is 41 years old. The shelter offers a program to help each man find permanent shelter and employment. 

We also have emergency accomadations for women and children. Please contact our Social Service department for more information regarding our Women's Emergency Shelter Program at (254) 756-7271.

The Men's Lodge is located at 300 Webster, Waco, Texas 76703 

 

 Sally's House

Sally's House- an Emergency Shelter for Women and Women with Children

Sally's House will provide a more secure and homelike atmosphere for women and children in need of emergency shelter.  This facility will also provide extended stay while these families work with Salvation Army case managers to utilize all resources available to help them achieve housing stability.

Sally's House provides two apartments for women and children in need of extended stay, and a dormitory style room for emergency shelter for up to 5 single women. Sally's House is adjacent to The Salvation Army Community Kitchen, which serves 365 days a year.

Sally's House is located at 4th and Clay in downtown Waco.

Intake for Sally's House will be conducted through the Salvation Army Social Services Department, located at 4721 West Waco Drive.
