Each winter, The Salvation Army of Waco offer special holiday programs so that children and adults from impoverished neighborhoods and low-income families have a chance to escape everyday trials and enjoy the holidays
The Salvation Army is preparing to ring the Kettle bells and make change happen throughout McLennan County starting November 17th thru December 24th at over 19 local storefronts in Waco.
People are often unaware that 100 percent of the donations dropped into Army Kettles here in McLennan County, remain here in McLennan County to fund social service programs that reach far beyond the Christmas season-It could go towards toys for a child at Christmas, help with a winter utility bill, a box of food or even school supplies in August.
The Salvation Army services continue year-round, because we are committed to Doing the Most Good for those in need. During the 2007 Kettle Campaign, The Salvation Army of Waco was able to help local families, children and shut-ins experience a joyous holiday season. In conjunction with the Marines Toys for Tots Foundation, 77,318 toys were provided to local children. We also distributed 4,210 gifts to local nursing homes, hospitals, and veterans, provided 800 meals on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day and helped 9,872 individuals in the month of December in our Social Service Program.
