The Social Service Program offers a wide range of services that are provided by highly trained case workers. Our social services include counseling and when appropriate, emergency assistance for basic needs;  items including clothing, food, personal hygiene, ID, transportation, shelter, prescriptions, etc.

WHAT IS CONSIDERED EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE?

Emergency assistance is provided to people who come to The Salvation Army with pressing financial needs. Usually, by the time they come to us they need help to survive, as they have exhausted all other resources and are under threat of utility shut off, eviction or foreclosure.

WHAT DOES THE SALVATION ARMY DO TO HELP?

The Social Service Program seeks to help people by not only making provision for their immediate needs, but by working with them to find more permanent solutions to the root causes fo their problems, through counseling, material resources and referrals to other agencies.

WHAT DO PROSPECTIVE CLIENTS NEED TO BRING TO THE SOCIAL SERVICE OFFICE TO SEE IF THEY QUALIFY FOR ASSISTANCE?

Prospective clients should bring a form of identification (birth certificate, driver's license, Social Security card or copy of it). Call (254) 756-7271 or come in during our regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday. (Closed Fridays)
