Davie County, Stokes County & Yadkin County
Since the mid 1980's, the Winston-Salem Area Command has provided services in Davie, Stokes and Yadkin Counties.
Yadkin and Davie Counties received Service Center status in 2005 and 2006 respectively.
Stokes County is a Service Center and operates in conjunction with the Department of Social Services, King Outreach Ministry and East Stokes Outreach Ministry.
In each community, the Salvation Army provides traditional emergency assistance such as rent and utility payments, medicine, and emergency lodging.
The Salvation Army also provides non-traditional assistance such as car repairs, insurance payments, and daycare assistance in order to help residents avoid a secondary crisis.
The Salvation Army is the primary provider of Christmas assistance to families in Yadkin County and League of Mercy is provided during the holiday season in all three centers of operation. In Yadkin and Davie Counties, the Salvation Army also operates Family Thrift Stores.
